This is a wooden chest that I bought to house my RO/DI unit as well as some supplements and other miscellaneous items. I had run out of room underneath the fish tank as the stand is jam packed with a refugium, protein skimmer, 3 ballasts, and water pumps. This chest was stained to match my furniture, holes were drilled in the back to allow water lines and electric cords into the chest, and a power strip was mounted inside the chest as an extra power supply. A large enough chest could possible house a refugium. You could also use it to house a chiller, but you would basically want to cut the back wall out for ventilation for this type of application. With the lid shut, it just looks like part of the furniture!! Below we're offering a few different wooden chests to match your need. | ||

This is SkyLab's user friendly auto top-off system. It measures 14.5" x 10" x 10" (L x W x H) and has a 5 gallon capacity. It has a handle on top for easy carrying when refilling. The round white screw cap is where the container is filled, and seals with a water tight gasket. To the right of this is a bulkhead with a hose adapter to drain water into a sump or wet/dry filter. The inside is plumbed so that water is drained from the very bottom of the container. The small hose on top is what makes the whole thing work. The tip of this small hose is placed in the sump just below the desired water line. When the water level falls below the tip of the hose, air enters the hose allowing water to displace from the container and into the sump until the tip of the hose is covered once again. The tip of the drain hose should be deeper under water (near bottom) than the air hose. The cost of $60.00 covers shipping and handling. |
